Australian and Aotearoa/New Zealand Minimally Invasive Pancreatic Surgery Collaborative

Our Mission

Break Accessibility Barriers | Forge a New Community of Surgeons

We are an inclusive collaborative of minimally invasive pancreatic surgeons from throughout Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand; to help safely disseminate, continue to develop, and collaborate internationally on all aspects pertaining to minimally invasive pancreatic surgery.

Our collaboration exists to help overcome some of the unique societal and medical barriers faced in Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand. These include:

  • very low population density,

  • the large distance between practicing centers,

  • the low volume of operable pancreatic disease, and

  • the distribution between private and public health systems.

We aim to address these challenges by providing a network for research projects pertaining to minimally invasive pancreatic surgery, as well as training/mentorship for new and existing surgeons who would like to upskill in this area.

In order to maintain the integrity and credibility of our collaboration, we refrain from utilizing it as a platform for self-promotion and advertising. By doing so we can maintain a focus on objectives and goals.
